Accounting is a field that requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively. As an experienced accounting professional, you will play a vital role in maintaining the accuracy of our financial records.

About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled accountant with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with UK-based accounting firms. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in accounting software such as Xero, FreeAgent, Sage Line 50, VT, and Taxcalc. Proficiency in data migration from Sage Line 50 to Xero is beneficial.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Transactions Processing
    • Process financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • VAT Compliance
    • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable, prepare VAT returns, and manage VAT calculations.
  • Tax Return Preparation
    • Collaborate with the tax team to ensure timely preparation of corporate and individual tax returns.
  • Mentorship and Training
    • Review junior staff work and provide mentorship on accounting processes, VAT calculations, and tax return preparation.
  • Financial Reporting
    • Assist in creating financial reports, analyzing trends, and providing insights to management.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A qualified accounting background (CA or ACCA).
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of remote experience working with a UK-based accounting firm.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, FreeAgent, Sage Line 50, VT, Taxcalc).
  • Data migration experience from Sage Line 50 to Xero is beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of VAT, accounting principles, and UK tax regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for mentoring junior staff.
  • A proactive, results-driven approach to work.
