Senior PHP Developer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior PHP Developer to join our team. As a Senior PHP Developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing new applications and processes that are innovative, scalable, and secure.

Your primary focus will be on leading the development of high-quality web-based applications using PHP, with an emphasis on object-oriented programming principles and best practices.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and develop solutions that meet those needs. In addition, you will collaborate with other developers to design, implement, and deploy software applications.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PHP, with experience in designing and implementing scalable and secure applications. You should also have excellent problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to communicate technical ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in PHP development
  • In-depth knowledge of PHP, including its synchronous behavior
  • Proficiency in object-oriented PHP programming
  • Experience with popular third-party APIs (Google, Facebook, Stripe, etc.)
  • Understanding of accessibility and security compliance
  • Familiarity with common PHP and web server vulnerabilities and their mitigation strategies
  • The ability to design and implement scalable applications
  • Knowledge of user authentication and authorization processes between multiple systems and environments
  • Experience integrating multiple data sources and databases into a single system
  • Understanding of the limitations of PHP and the ability to develop workarounds
  • Skill in creating database schemas to support business processes
