Linux System Engineer Job

We are looking for an experienced Linux System Engineer to fill a critical role in our hosting infrastructure.

  • The ideal candidate will have 11+ years of hands-on experience with Linux system administration, specifically in web hosting or cloud environments.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience as a Senior level engineer or Level 3 support specialist is required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our hosting platforms worldwide.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the final escalation point for complex server, hosting, and network-related issues. Diagnose and resolve critical system failures, network outages, and performance issues.
  • Manage, optimize, and secure Linux-based hosting environments. Administer and fine-tune web servers, databases, and caching layers.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for server provisioning and configuration management.
  • Deploy and manage KVM, OpenStack, VMware, or containerized environments.
  • Implement security best practices, including firewall rules, SELinux/AppArmor, IDS/IPS.
  • Set up and manage monitoring tools.
  • Collaborate with NOC, DevOps, and Engineering teams.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Technical Skills:
  • Expert knowledge of Linux system administration, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or Ubuntu.
  • Proficient in web hosting technologies, such as cPanel, Plesk, WHM, LAMP/LEMP stacks.
  • Strong scripting ability in Perl, Bash, and Python.
  • Experience with configuration management tools, such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef.
  • Networking expertise – understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, Firewalls, Load Balancing.
  • Familiarity with RAID, SAN, NAS, and distributed storage systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications such as RHCE, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or Kubernetes (CKA).
  • Good English communication skills.
