Software Development Manager

We are seeking an experienced software developer to enhance and upgrade existing software for data acquisition and analysis. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing new features, modifying analytic algorithms, researching and developing methods for recording abnormal heart rhythms during exercise, and integrating data acquisition software with analytic algorithms.

The Department of Medicine at Aga Khan University is committed to providing education, research and healthcare of international standard. The department comprises multiple sections including Cardiology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Neurology, and Pulmonary & Critical Care.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or related field, with substantial experience in software development, including biomedical applications and a strong understanding of biostatistical analysis. Proven experience working with the VCG team to develop VCG software that visualizes cardiac data in various graphical formats is also essential.

  • Enhance and upgrade existing software for data acquisition and analysis.
  • Implement new features as required for the examination of orthogonal ECG signals during exercise.
  • Modify analytic algorithms to improve accuracy and reliability.
  • Research and develop methods for recording abnormal heart rhythms during exercise.
  • Integrate data acquisition software with analytic algorithms.
  • Collaborate with the team for the construction of a bicycle ergometer that records and displays units of physical work.
  • Develop a non-invasive method comparable to the manual method of blood pressure measurement.
  • Develop tools to regulate physical workload during exercise tests.
  • Create interfaces to interpret and present data analysis in a user-friendly manner for physicians.
  • Provide regular updates and documentation on software development progress.
