Hiring for a retail and gas company that operates multiple locations.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Financial Controller to oversee accounting and financial operations for our expanding chain of retail stores and gas stations across the United States. This role is essential in ensuring financial accuracy, driving operational efficiencies, and supporting strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee all accounting operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
  2. Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  3. Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning across multiple locations.
  4. Ensure compliance with legal requirements such as tax laws, fuel reporting, and environmental regulations.
  5. Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures to safeguard assets.
  6. Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
  7. Collaborate with store and station managers to optimize inventory management and control costs.
  8. Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
  9. Implement financial systems and tools to enhance automation and reporting.
  10. Provide financial insights and recommendations to support growth and profitability.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting/finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in retail, convenience stores, or fuel/gas station operations is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax laws, and regulatory reporting.
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar ERP systems).
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple locations and a distributed team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with fuel tax filings, inventory shrink analysis, and POS systems.
  • Familiarity with environmental and fuel compliance financial reporting.
  • Hands-on experience integrating financial systems during acquisitions or expansions.

  • Work Timings: 10:00 am to 7:00 pm
  • Work Days: Monday - Friday
