Electroencephalography and Transcranial Doppler Technician Job Description

To function effectively as an Electroencephalography (EEG) and Transcranial Doppler (TCD) technician, one must possess a strong foundation in neuroscience and medical technology. This role requires the ability to perform EEG tests on patients to diagnose various neurological conditions, including seizures and brain injuries.

  • Performing EEG tests involves placing electrodes on the patient's scalp to record electrical activity in the brain. This information is then used to diagnose or rule out various neurological disorders.
  • The TCD ultrasound examination assesses blood flow through the brain's blood vessels, providing critical information for diagnosing vascular-related conditions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A Diploma in Cardiac Technology or higher relevant education is preferred. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of neuroanatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
  • Relevant experience in a reputable hospital is also highly valued, as it demonstrates hands-on skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
