Job Description

We are seeking a talented and dedicated professional to fill the position of Lecturer - Optometry / Orthoptics. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our students' learning experience.

Main Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Learning: Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences for our students, adhering to faculty workload policy.
  • Scholarship and Research: Engage in independent research and act as principal investigator and project leader.
  • Mentorship and Supervision: Mentor 15 to 20 students as per the Riphah Mentoring Program, and supervise student projects, field trips, and placements.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Set, mark, and assess work and examinations, providing constructive feedback to students.
  • Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records of students' academic performance, update data in VLE and other required software, and participate in departmental and university committees as required.
Key Qualifications
  • Doctoral Degree: A PhD in Optometry or Orthoptics, or a closely related field.
  • Teaching Experience: Proven experience in teaching and mentoring students at the undergraduate level.
  • Research Background: A strong background in research, with a track record of publishing scholarly articles.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to link and inculcate Islamic and ethical values in teaching.
