Storage Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Storage Systems Engineer to support and develop our storage solutions.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with storage technologies, virtualization, and software development, especially in Linux-based environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Software Development & Feature Enhancement
  • Design and develop new features to enhance system capabilities for handling user data.
  • Update and modify existing features for compatibility with new OS versions and utilities.
  • Create implementation proposals and plans prior to executing changes.
  • Modify Storage Concentrator (SC) management facilities and Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) for new features.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and final deployment, including online help documentation.
  • Support the transition from Linux to AlmaLinux.
  • Maintain and improve the virtualization engine, primarily written in C.
  • Modify management interfaces written in Perl, Go, and Python as needed.
  • Maintain HTML/CGI-based GUIs.
  • Work with various data storage types: block, file, and object storage; Linux and Windows file systems.
  • Implement and manage storage operations such as snapshots, deduplication, and backups, including NFS and S3 volume features.
  • Configure storage hardware and protocols: SCSI, iSCSI, CIFS, FC; focus on high availability and scale-out solutions.
  • Customer Support & System Analysis
  • Analyze system logs to troubleshoot and resolve storage network, virtualization, and data management issues.
  • Assist customer support in utilizing Storage Concentrator features.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum 5 years in storage systems engineering, development, or support.
  • Proficiency in C, Perl, Go, Python programming.
  • Strong Linux system administration and storage utilities knowledge.
  • Deep understanding of storage protocols, networks, and data management techniques.
  • Experience with virtualization and automation infrastructure.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
