Data Engineer Position

About the Role

This key role involves creating, developing, and optimizing complex data architectures to support business needs.

  • Create scalable data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration solutions using SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks.
  • Design and implement robust data models that support reporting and analytics requirements, ensuring high performance and scalability.
  • Maintain and transition legacy reporting to modern platforms such as Power BI.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Evaluate data accuracy, integrity, and quality by implementing effective governance, security, and compliance measures.
  • Develop high-performance querying solutions using Delta Lake and serverless SQL environments.
  • Implement version control and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Optimize existing data infrastructure to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Drive adoption of Azure data services across the data engineering team.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and performance tuning expertise for SQL and data integration solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering with a focus on SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks or MS Fabric.
  • Proficiency in SQL development, including stored procedures, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with ETL development and data integration from various sources, including SQL, DB2, Mysql, Azure Blob, and APIs.
  • Expertise in designing and optimizing data models.
  • Familiarity with SSRS and ability to modernize legacy reporting by transitioning to Power BI.
  • Knowledge of Azure core services, including Logic Apps, Azure Functions.
  • Familiarity with data governance and best security practices.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Atlassian JIRA.
  • Proficiency with version control systems like Git and deployment automation tools.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for continuous learning.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to lead and inspire teams.
