Job Overview

The Data Security Strategist will be responsible for developing and implementing key security frameworks, controls, and risk management processes to ensure consistent security practices throughout the organization.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Security Frameworks: Create and enforce information security frameworks and controls such as ISO27001:2013, SAN Top 20, and OWASP Top 10 to minimize vulnerabilities and ensure regulatory requirements are met.
  • Manage Vendor Risk: Develop a risk-based process for vendor risk management, including assessment and treatment for risks that may result from internal customers, consultants, and service providers.
  • Cybersecurity Compliance: Heavy responsibility on PCI and IT SOX compliance efforts to guarantee regulatory adherence.
  • IT System Hardening: Establish baseline hardening standards for IT systems across the organization to prevent potential threats.
  • Monitoring and Patch Management: Ensure all systems are monitored by SEIM, XDR, and enhance the patch management program using a risk-based approach.
  • Policies and Procedures: Periodically update policies and procedures to reflect business requirements and align with industry-leading security practices.
  • Cybersecurity Awareness: Participate in the development of Cybersecurity awareness content to educate employees on best practices.
  • Vulnerability Scanning: Conduct periodic vulnerability scanning processes and penetration tests to identify potential threats.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in information security.
  • CISSP, CISA, or CISM preferred.
  • Experience with developing security frameworks such as ISO, PCI, and IT SOX audit requirements and security attack vectors.
  • Experience with data classification, access control, and security models.
  • Experience with implementing and managing DLP, XDR, FIM, Application Whitelisting, and ERM tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with people at various levels throughout the organization.
