Job Title: Linguistic Specialist

An essential opportunity has arisen to contribute to the translation of an English training manual into Urdu.

Wycliffe Associates is working on Bible translation projects for deaf and blind individuals worldwide, utilizing the Symbolic Universal Notation (SUN) process. This symbol-based writing system provides immediate access to Scripture for both the deaf and the deaf-blind.

Our organization seeks native or bilingual Urdu speakers to translate educational materials into their native language, enhancing accessibility for teachers and students in Urdu-speaking regions.

  • Translate the English training manual into Urdu.
  • Ensure accuracy and clarity in the translation.
  • Collaborate with the project team as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Fluency in both English and Urdu.
  • Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Access to a computer and the internet.
  • Ability to commit approximately 10 to 12 hours of service per week.

This work is entirely remote and may take several months to complete. By contributing your language skills, you will help bring the Gospel to the blind and deaf through volunteer ministry.
