Job Description:
- Mental Health Support Role: We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Officer to join our team in providing critical support services to individuals struggling with depression and anxiety.
Main Responsibilities:
- Screening and Assessment: Conduct thorough screenings for depression and anxiety at both facility and community levels, using established protocols to identify those in need of support.
- Counseling and Support: Provide one-on-one counseling and support to individuals found positive for depression or anxiety, working closely with them to develop personalized plans for recovery.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client treatment progress, ensuring that all relevant information is documented and easily accessible.
- Community Outreach: Establish strong relationships with community members, engaging in outreach activities to promote awareness about mental health services and reduce stigma around seeking help.
- Family Support: Offer counseling services to family members of individuals struggling with depression or anxiety, providing them with the tools and support they need to cope with their loved one's challenges.
- Home Visits: Make regular home visits as required, assessing the individual's environment and developing strategies to enhance their mental well-being.
- Awareness Raising: Organize and participate in community mobilization activities to raise awareness about mental health issues, promoting education and understanding.
- Data Collection: Conduct research activities, collecting data as required by the program to inform policy decisions and improve service delivery.
- Confidentiality: Uphold strict confidentiality regarding all patients, conversations, referrals, and other sensitive information.
