Lead Ophthalmology Department

We are seeking a visionary leader to head our ophthalmology department. The successful candidate will oversee the academic, clinical, and research missions of the department.

About Our Institution

Founded in 1983, our institution is Pakistan's first private university and a leading health sciences centre in the region. We have expanded into disciplines including education, media and communications, and arts and sciences.

The Department of Ophthalmology at our institution is a growing academic and clinical hub, offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and allied health training.

Research is a key strategic objective. We lead initiatives in regenerative medicine, stem cell science, clinical trials, and community-based health systems.

The Head of the department will lead our research initiatives, foster a culture of inquiry and innovation, and secure extramural funding to support scholarly output.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to advance clinical services, academic programs, and research initiatives;
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality patient-centred care across all ophthalmic subspecialties;
  • Optimize clinical operations and resource utilization, ensuring compliance with JCIA/ISO standards;
  • Lead curriculum innovation and academic oversight across undergraduate, postgraduate, fellowship, and allied health training programs;
  • Promote academic excellence through structured teaching activities;
  • Advance research excellence in basic science, clinical trials, and community-based health systems;
  • Secure extramural funding and support scholarly output;
  • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty;
  • Represent the department in university governance, national forums, and international academic partnerships;
  • Collaborate with the Advancement Office on donor stewardship and fundraising.
