Data Scientist

The primary goal of this role is to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for processing structured and unstructured data from various sources.

This involves performing data ingestion using APIs, flat files, and third-party connectors, as well as cleaning, validating, and preprocessing data for downstream analytics or machine learning workflows.

• Implement and manage data workflow orchestration using Apache Airflow, including DAG creation, scheduling, and monitoring.

This includes collaborating with engineering and AI/ML teams to provide clean, well-structured, and reliable datasets.

1. Develop and Maintain Scalable ETL Pipelines: Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end ETL pipelines for processing structured and unstructured data from various sources.
2. Perform Data Ingestion: Use APIs, flat files, and third-party connectors to ingest data into the pipeline.
3. Clean and Validate Data: Clean, validate, and preprocess data for downstream analytics or machine learning workflows.
4. Implement and Manage Data Workflow Orchestration: Use Apache Airflow to implement and manage data workflow orchestration, including DAG creation, scheduling, and monitoring.
5. Collaborate with Teams: Collaborate with engineering and AI/ML teams to provide clean, well-structured, and reliable datasets.

Some of the key skills required for this role include strong proficiency in Python, working knowledge of SQL, familiarity with Bash/Shell scripting, experience building and maintaining end-to-end ETL pipelines, hands-on experience with Apache Airflow, knowledge of data ingestion strategies, experience with data preprocessing and quality checks, experience working with structured and semi-structured data, and experience with relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MS SQL Server.

In terms of soft skills, the ideal candidate should have a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage time effectively and take ownership of assigned tasks.

To be eligible for this role, candidates should have a bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, approximately 2 years of professional experience in a Data Science or Data Engineering role, and be comfortable working onsite at our Lahore office.

• Programming & Scripting: Strong proficiency in Python, working knowledge of SQL, familiarity with Bash/Shell scripting.
