The role of a quality assurance specialist is vital in ensuring the finished product meets the required standards. Key responsibilities include coordinating and ensuring product quality testing, data collection for reporting purposes, and statistical trend analysis to identify opportunities for improvement in food quality and safety.

Quality Assurance Specialist Job Description

  • Perform regular sampling, testing, monitoring, data entries, review, and Quality Walls (process & packaging) of two PC lines as per defined frequencies.
  • Ensure control of non-conforming finish products of PC lines through PepsiCo Hold and Release guidelines and coordinate with relevant teams to avoid mishandling or dispatch of any out of specification product.
  • Verify that all laboratory instruments are calibrated to ensure accurate testing results.
  • Conduct thorough line walks in Process, Packaging, and Storage areas for all lines during the shift to ensure compliance to Quality and Food Safety standards.
  • Perform daily checks and bias tracking, sampling, and testing plus results entries in Bias Manager for both PC lines.
  • Conduct audits of Third-party cold stores in accordance with Quality and Food Safety standards and submit reports.
  • Prepare Daily QA&FS scorecards for morning meetings to show performance of products and highlight opportunity areas.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards of process, packaging, and storage areas.
  • Participate in preparation activities for external audits of QAS, ASHA, HALAL, AIB, and FSSC.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, or Quality Management.
  • At least 5 years' experience in FMCG.
  • Good knowledge of material testing and quality assessment.
  • Familiarity with quality and food safety standards, preferably lead auditor certification.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001.
