Accounting Manager Job Overview

This is a pivotal position that oversees the day-to-day operations of an accounting department. The Accounting Manager will play a key role in ensuring seamless execution of tasks and efficient workflow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Oversight: Manage the daily activities of the accounting team to guarantee successful task completion and optimized processes.
  • Financial Management: Process end-of-month and year-end financial processes, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, utilities, budgeting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity, and other related financial tasks.
  • Financial Reporting: Analyze and interpret accounting data to produce accurate financial reports or statements that provide valuable insights for business decision-making.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and complete annual audits to maintain transparency and accountability.
  • Recommendations: Provide informed recommendations to senior management on financial matters.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to optimize systems and procedures.
  • Staff Management: Assign projects, direct staff, and ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Financial Objectives: Meet financial accounting objectives, maintaining accuracy and timeliness in all financial transactions.
Requirements:
  • Accounting Expertise: Proven experience as an Accounting Manager with advanced knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software, and databases, with the ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
