Job Title:

A Product Optimization Specialist is responsible for ensuring that products are in the right store at the right time and in the correct quantities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Product Planning: Work closely with buyers to accurately forecast trends, plan stock levels, and monitor performance.
  2. Inventory Management: Decide how much money should be spent, how many lines should be bought, and in what quantities.
  3. Range Management: Set prices to maximise profits, manage the performance of ranges, and plan promotions and markdowns as necessary.
  4. Sales and Marketing: Liaise with suppliers and distributors, produce layout plans for stores, and gather information on customers' reactions to products.
About the Role:

This is a key role within an organisation, and profitability can be affected by how successfully the specialist undertakes their work.

Requirements:
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to liaise with various stakeholders, including buyers, analysts, stores, suppliers, and distributors.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to maintain a comprehensive library of appropriate data and use specialist computer software to handle sales statistics and produce sales projections.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to train and supervise junior staff.
