Job Summary

This role is responsible for managing tax related compliances and operations under the respective laws, including reviewing income tax and FED/Sales tax payments, arranging information and coordination with external counsel, and responding to tax notices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review of income tax and FED/Sales tax payments, income tax withholding statements and FED/Sales tax returns and statements for tax deposit and filing on timely basis.
  • Arranging information and coordination with external counsel for preparation and filing of annual income tax return and related refund application.
  • Responding to tax notices along with the information/documents and conducting tax audits.
  • Coordination with legal department/external counsel over provision of related documents and filing of appeals, stay applications and references before the respective forums.
  • Provision of tax opinions over contracts, products/promos and business arrangements.
  • Tax accounting and CMCC reporting on monthly basis.
  • Dissemination of tax changes to related functions and development of tax-related reports and refinement of processes.

Eligibility Criteria

Education

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/part-qualified ACA, ICMA, ACCA.

Work Experience

  • At least 6-7 years of telecom-related tax experience.

Skills

  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of income tax, FED, Sales Tax, and Provincial Sales Tax on Services laws for compliance and related reporting.
  • Industry insight for tax practices understanding and ability to work over ERP.
