Director of Cybersecurity Operations Job Description

We're seeking an experienced professional to lead our cybersecurity operations team. The ideal candidate has experience building or scaling a managed security services provider (MSSP) operation, with a strong understanding of client expectations around security operations centers (SOCs), endpoint detection and response (EDR), extended detection and response (XDR), SIEM, and security frameworks like NIST or HIPAA.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Build and lead a high-performing security operations team in Lahore.
  • Develop, implement, and manage SOC-as-a-Service and Managed Detection and Response (MDR) capabilities tailored for healthcare clients.
  • Owning internal playbooks, processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and client engagement models aligned with U.S. MSSP standards.
  • Serving as a technical and operational bridge between Pakistan and the U.S.-based executive team and clients.
  • Overseeing deployment and tuning of security tools including SIEM, EDR/XDR, vulnerability management, etc.
  • Working closely with compliance teams to ensure alignment with HIPAA, HITECH, NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), and other standards.
  • Mentoring and upskilling junior talent to create long-term operational scalability and leadership succession.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7–10+ years in cybersecurity, with 3+ years in a leadership role at a U.S.-based MSSP or SOC.
  • Proven track record building or running MSSP or SOC operations for U.S. clients.
  • Deep hands-on experience with security tools and platforms such as CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Splunk, Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection, Rapid7, etc.
  • Experience with incident response, threat hunting, and security automation.
  • Solid understanding of U.S. regulatory requirements in healthcare (HIPAA, HITECH).
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience managing offshore security teams or establishing delivery centers in Pakistan.
  • U.S. client-facing experience or exposure to compliance-heavy environments.
  • Relevant certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Homeland Security Practitioner (CHFI), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIA), GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIH), etc.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related technical field.
