**Education Welfare Officer Job Description:**

We are recruiting an Education Welfare Officer to join our team, responsible for supporting children of compulsory school age in receiving education.

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking statutory duties and responsibilities related to the Education Welfare Service, including collecting data on underprivileged families and maintaining confidential records of support for all students referred.

They will also be responsible for ensuring that all children in receipt of education and providing them with necessary support to return to full-time education where needed.

To succeed in this role, you will require strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to form good working relationships with a range of internal and external colleagues. Additionally, familiarity with the surrounding area and the best method of traveling is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collecting data on underprivileged families and maintaining confidential records.
  2. Ensuring all children of compulsory school age receive education.
  3. Supporting children to return to full-time education.
  4. Working directly with schools to reduce school absence and improve attendance.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role working with schools and other services within an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with the surrounding area and the best method of traveling.
