Canada Tax Accountant Job Description

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Canada Tax Accountant. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Canadian tax laws, compliance, and accounting standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing tax returns, advising clients on tax planning, ensuring compliance with Canadian tax regulations, and handling financial reporting. You will work closely with our team, supporting clients across various industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and file corporate (T2) and personal (T1) tax returns as per Canadian tax regulations.
  • Assist in GST/HST returns, payroll tax, and other statutory filings.
  • Perform tax planning and advisory to optimize tax liabilities for businesses and individuals.
  • Stay updated with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regulations and tax law changes.
  • Conduct financial statement analysis to ensure accurate tax calculations.
  • Handle tax audits, notices, and communications with CRA on behalf of clients.
  • Work with QuickBooks, Xero, CaseWare, and other tax preparation software.
  • Provide bookkeeping and financial reporting support for Canadian clients.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to meet client expectations.
