Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our agile team in Consumer & Community Banking Technology. As a member of this team, you will work on designing, developing, and delivering state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute software solutions through design, development, and technical troubleshooting
  • Write high-quality code using programming languages such as Java, Python, and PySpark
  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot data pipelines end-to-end using various tools and services
  • Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data and use these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
  • Gather, analyze, and visualize data to inform business decisions

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience
  • Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Proficient in modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Experience with Spark-based frameworks for ETL and reporting solutions
  • Cloud implementation experience with AWS, including Lake Formation, Glue ETL, EMR, S3, Glue Catalog, Athena, Airflow, Lambda, Step Functions, Event Bridge, ECS Cluster, and ECS Apps
  • Data serialization expertise in Parquet, Iceberg, AVRO, JSON
  • AWS Data Security knowledge, including Lake Formation, IAM, Service Roles, Encryption, KMS, and Secrets Manager

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, Resiliency, and Security
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
