Job Description:

As a senior Linux system engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our hosting platforms. This includes managing, optimizing, and securing Linux-based hosting environments, including CentOS, Ubuntu, and RHEL.

You will act as the final escalation point (L3) for complex server, hosting, and network-related issues. You will also develop and maintain automation scripts in Bash, Python, and Perl for server provisioning and configuration management.

Additionally, you will deploy and manage KVM, OpenStack, VMware, and containerized environments, including Docker and Kubernetes. You will implement security best practices, including firewall rules and vulnerability assessments.

  • Key Responsibilities:

    • Escalation & Troubleshooting: Act as the final escalation point (L3) for complex server, hosting, and network-related issues.
    • Linux Server Administration: Manage, optimize, and secure Linux-based hosting environments, including CentOS, Ubuntu, and RHEL.
    • Automation & DevOps: Develop and maintain automation scripts in Bash, Python, and Perl for server provisioning and configuration management.
    • Cloud & Virtualization: Deploy and manage KVM, OpenStack, VMware, and containerized environments, including Docker and Kubernetes.
    • Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices, including firewall rules and vulnerability assessments.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • 11+ years of hands-on Linux system administration experience in a web hosting or cloud environment.
  • 7+ years of experience in a Senior position or Level 3 Engineer role.
  • Expert knowledge of web hosting technologies, including cPanel, Plesk, WHM, and LAMP/LEMP stacks.
  • Strong scripting ability in Perl, Bash, and Python.
