Cancer Genomics and Epigenomics Analyst

The role requires a skilled bioinformatics analyst to contribute to studies on genomics and epigenomics in various cancer types.

Our interdisciplinary team employs rigorous analysis of next-generation sequencing data from tumor and normal samples, including DNA, RNA, chromatin, and single-cell analyses.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong computational background, who enjoys tackling challenges and collaborating in small teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply existing and novel algorithms to cancer datasets, critically review and analyze results
  • Design and develop analysis approaches, workflows, and software tools for large datasets from diverse sources
  • Present results effectively to clinicians, experimental scientists, and computational experts
Essential Functions:
  • Assist in biological data analysis using bioinformatics tools and software
  • Perform data processing, quality control, and database maintenance
  • Collaborate with research teams to understand their data analysis needs
  • Support the development and implementation of data analysis pipelines
  • Conduct basic statistical analyses and data visualization
  • Participate in result interpretation and presentation

This position requires independent design and innovation in areas such as algorithm development, data analysis, quality assurance/testing, pipeline software/computing development, user interface design & report development, web-based application development, or report development.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computational Biology (Master's preferred)
  • 0-1 year of experience in computational sciences (can be substituted with relevant experience)
Desirable Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience in infrastructure, programming languages, and computational sciences
  • Able to work with open-source bioinformatics software
  • Strong analytical skills, including critical thinking, data modeling, problem-solving, and troubleshooting
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong time management skills
