Cell Site Installation and Maintenance Expert

The primary role of this position is to oversee the installation and maintenance of cell site infrastructure. This involves conducting thorough inspections of power equipment, calibrating it to meet specific requirements, and ensuring that all cell site operations are carried out safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for MBU, including network availability ratio (NAR), traffic channel (TCH), and PM success rate.
  • Inspect and maintain power equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Install, maintain, and repair Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) to ensure seamless transitions between power sources.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and diagnostic test Rectifiers (Emerson, Huawei) and Rectifier batteries (Li-ion cells) to guarantee reliable power supply.
  • Identify and troubleshoot causes of Diesel Generator problems and failures to minimize downtime and optimize resource allocation.
  • Perform Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) of Diesel Generator after overhaul to verify its operational readiness.
  • Identify and rectify DCACs to prevent system disruptions.
  • Identify commercial supply faults and implement corrective actions to minimize losses.
  • Ensure safe and efficient tower operations by adhering to established safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Report safety hazards or concerns to supervisor to facilitate prompt resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records of tower operations to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage telco spares and inventory for cell sites to optimize resource utilization.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or Associate Degree as a minimum educational requirement.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in telecommunication installation and maintenance of power infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of various tower components and tools to perform tasks effectively.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members to foster collaboration and achieve common goals.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to leverage collective expertise and resources.
  • Hands-on experience with Power infrastructure on BTS Cell Sites, both AC & DC, Rectifiers, and RMS troubleshooting to ensure comprehensive knowledge.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance of telco and non-telco equipment, management, and execution to guarantee optimal system performance.
