Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud-based systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will enhance the scalability, performance, and reliability of our cloud infrastructure by leveraging your expertise in container orchestration (Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and provide technical guidance and support to enable teams to adopt best practices and implement efficient infrastructure solutions.

  • You will uphold the highest standards of security and compliance by implementing robust measures to protect our infrastructure and customer data, ensuring that our systems remain resilient against potential threats.

  • You will utilize monitoring tools and performance metrics such as ELK and Prometheus to identify areas for optimization and implement strategies to enhance system performance and resource utilization.

Daily Tasks

  • You will serve as a primary point of contact for the overall health, performance, and capacity of our platform.

  • You will assist in the roll-out and deployment of new product features and installations to facilitate our rapid iteration and growth.

  • You will develop tools to improve our ability to rapidly deploy and effectively monitor applications in a large-scale environment.

  • You will work closely with development teams to ensure the platform is designed with operability in mind.

  • You will identify and lead efforts to improve automation.

  • You will perform root cause analysis and document results in the form of post-mortems.

  • You will write and maintain documentation around key systems and processes.

  • You will participate in an on-call rotation with some of our customers.

  • You will function well in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

Requirements

  • You must have at least 5 years of hands-on experience operating Kubernetes clusters in a production environment.

  • You must have experience managing and scaling distributed systems in one of the three major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • You must have strong experience with at least one Continuous Integration system, such as CircleCI or Jenkins.

  • You must have a deep understanding of the Linux Operating System, standard networking protocols, and components.

  • You must have experience deploying, supporting, and monitoring new and existing services, platforms, and application stacks.

  • You must have automation/scripting experience with Shell, Python, or similar.

  • You must have familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Cloudformation, etc.).

  • You must have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with scale testing, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.

  • Experience with at least one of the following languages: NodeJS, Go.

  • Familiarity with Apache Airflow.

  • Experience with Openshift and the Red Hat marketplace.

  • Experience with the Prometheus/Grafana and ELK stacks.
