Simpaisa is looking for a highly capable and driven Financial Controller. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role, responsible for building a robust, scalable, and compliant finance function while also resolving near-term priorities. Key Responsibilities 1. Group Financial Management & Reporting Oversee financial accounting and reporting for all group entities (holding and subsidiaries). Lead preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual group-consolidated financial statements under IFRS. Maintain accurate multi-currency consolidation, ensuring proper elimination of intercompany balances. Provide group-level dashboards showing financial health, liquidity, receivables aging, and payables exposure. 2. Intercompany Reconciliation & Control Maintain a real-time register of group receivables and payables. Reconcile subsidiary-to-subsidiary transactions, cross-charges, loans, and service-fee allocations. Ensure all intercompany balances tie across ledgers before consolidation. Investigate and resolve differences through structured coordination with local finance teams. Develop and enforce a Group Intercompany Policy covering invoicing, settlements, and FX adjustments. 3. Compliance, Audit & Governance Ensure compliance with local accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements (e.g., VAT, ESR, AML). Maintain up-to-date accounting policies and ensure alignment across entities. 4. Treasury & Cash Flow Management Consolidate group cash positions and prepare rolling 13-week cash flow forecasts. Monitor cross-border fund flows and settlement cycles between merchants, processors, and banks. Support CFO in managing multi-currency liquidity. Oversee FX exposure management and intercompany funding optimization.5. Systems, Processes & Team Leadership Implement and maintain ERP or consolidation systems (e.g., NetSuite, Xero, Zoho Books, or Oracle). Automate reconciliations and intercompany eliminations for faster month-end close. Supervise and mentor finance officers across subsidiaries to ensure uniform accounting standards. Drive continuous improvement, digitalization, and internal control strengthening initiatives. Qualifications & Experience Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. Professional qualification preferred: Qualified Chartered Accountant. Minimum 10 years of experience, including at least 3 years in a group or regional controller role. Proven track record in multi-entity, multi-currency consolidations, ideally in fintech, payments, or digital platforms. Strong knowledge of IFRS, cross-border taxation, and intercompany accounting. Hands-on experience with ERP systems and consolidation tools. Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
