Role Overview

The Accounts Manager will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial operations, taxation, and compliance across multiple regions (Canada, Singapore, Japan and the USA). The role involves managing end-to-end accounting: bookkeeping oversight, tax filings, accounting procedures, ERP systems, and financial reporting, including trial balances, closing sheets, income statements, sales tax, VAT, and GST. 

The Accounts Manager will ensure accurate, timely compliance with international taxation laws and provide management with reliable financial insights to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Across all functions, you may be expected to:

• Oversee the company's full-cycle accounting functions, including bookkeeping, trial balance preparation, closing sheets, income statements, and balance sheets.
• Manage and ensure timely tax filings for the USA, Canada, Singapore, Japan, Colombia according to respective laws and compliance requirements.
• Resolve day-to-day finance Operate and manage regional taxation portals (e.g., IRS portal for USA, CRA for Canada, IRAS for Singapore).
• Handle Sales Tax, VAT, and GST reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
• Ensure compliance with international accounting standards and taxation regulations.
• Implement and manage ERP-based accounting (Odoo) systems to streamline financial processes and reporting.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and legal advisors for compliance and audit requirements.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data, produce financial reports, and recommend process improvements.
• Lead the month-end and year-end closing process.
• Support management with accurate financial forecasts, budgeting, and cash flow management.
• Maintain proper documentation for tax filings, reconciliations, and compliance.
• Record and update all financial transactions in the accounting system.
• Manage petty cash and reconcile daily balances.
• Handle vendor and customer payments, receipts, and reimbursements.

• Prepare and review accounts payable and receivable reports.
• Reconcile bank statements and cash flows.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure all financial entries are updated.
• Monitor outstanding balances and pending invoices.
• Conduct weekly financial reviews with management.
• Prepare and finalize trial balance, income statement, and balance sheet.
• Complete month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Generate financial performance reports for management.
• Review and reconcile inter-company transactions across regions.
• Ensure all accounting entries comply with company policies and ERP standards.
• Assist auditors with documentation and monthly reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CA) are preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in accounting and taxation.
• Exposure to multi-country taxation (Canada, Singapore, USA) is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems,
  especially Odoo (highly preferred).
• Solid understanding of and experience with trial balance, closing procedures, financial statements, sales tax, GST, and corporate tax matters.
• Proficient in the use of taxation portals and online filing systems for respective countries.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
