Position Purpose

This position will assist Head of Internal Audit in planning, development, execution, and coordination of Internal Audit Department's activities in BCL to ensure that financial, operational, information systems, and regulatory compliance processes have adequate internal controls.

Job Description

  • Design and develop direction, policies, and programs of the Internal Audit function, in collaboration with the Head of Internal Audit,
  • Provide consulting/advisory services to the business to strategically assess, remediate and improve control issues identified, while also identifying and addressing complex emerging risk areas.
  • Assist Head of Internal Audit in identification and assessment of organizational risks and in the preparation of the annual audit plan in response to such identified risks.
  • Schedule audit assignments based on the annual audit plan and direct and advise audit teams in preparation of audit scopes, completion of the audit work and communication of results to management and the Audit Committee.
  • Monitor and manage progress of annual audit plan on a monthly and quarterly basis, in order to ensure that plan is achieved with efficient and optimum utilization of resources.
  • Review and supervise audit work performed by staff for completion, coverage and accuracy. Ensure that work is being performed in accordance with established professional standards and remain abreast of emerging trends and best practices that can be incorporated into the audit work.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests to address control issues on new business processes, policies and procedures, and provide consultative services to management.
  • Manage the process to track, follow-up, and ultimately close all open audit issues on a timely basis.
  • Assist Head of Internal Audit in preparation of required working papers for Quarterly reporting to audit committee.
  • Perform special audit, consulting assignments and investigations as needed.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with auditees and various stakeholders.

Experience and Qualification

  • CA Finalist / ACCA Member.
  • 09 to 12 years of relevant experience preferably in cement industry.
