Job Purpose

The Internal Audit Coordinator is responsible for assisting in planning, executing, and monitoring internal audit activities to ensure effective risk management, internal controls, governance processes, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The role serves as a bridge between management and the audit function, supporting the organization in strengthening internal control systems and promoting a culture of accountability and transparency.

Key Responsibilities

1.
Audit Planning & Execution


•      Assist in the development and execution of the annual internal audit plan.
• Conduct risk-based audits of business processes, operations, and systems.


•      Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Internal Controls & Compliance


•      Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control systems.


•      Recommend improvements to strengthen governance and risk management practices.


•      Monitor corrective actions and follow-ups on audit findings.

3.
Reporting & Documentation


•      Prepare clear, concise, and well-documented audit working papers and reports.


•      Present findings and recommendations to the Head of Internal Audit / Audit Committee.


•      Maintain records in line with professional auditing standards.

4.
Stakeholder Coordination


•      Act as a liaison between internal audit, external auditors, and functional departments.


•      Coordinate with management to ensure timely implementation of audit recommendations.


•      Support awareness and training sessions on compliance and internal control practices.

5.
Continuous Improvement


•      Stay updated on best practices in auditing, compliance, and risk management. Internal


•      Contribute to process improvements and efficiency enhancement across the organization.

Qualifications & Experience

The candidate must fulfill the following criteria:


•      At least 3 years of relevant experience in audit, finance, or compliance; and


•      Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) or Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP).

Skills & Competencies


•      Strong understanding of risk management, corporate governance, and internal controls.


•      Knowledge of auditing standards (IIA, ISA, IFRS) and regulatory frameworks.


•      Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
