The Admissions Counselor is responsible for guiding prospective students through the admissions process, providing information about programs, evaluating applications, and supporting students in making informed decisions about their educational paths. The role requires excellent communication, relationship-building skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding student service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for prospective students and their families.

  • Provide accurate information about the institutions programs, admissions requirements, financial aid, and student life.

  • Conduct in-person and virtual interviews, campus tours, and information sessions.

  • Evaluate student applications, transcripts, and other supporting documents to determine eligibility.

  • Assist applicants in completing the admissions process and ensure all required documentation is submitted on time.

  • Maintain regular communication with prospective students via phone, email, text, and other channels to answer questions and encourage enrollment.

  • Update and maintain detailed and accurate records in the admissions database or CRM system.

  • Represent the institution at recruitment events, college fairs, high school visits, and community outreach activities.

  • Collaborate with faculty, financial aid staff, and student services to ensure a smooth transition for admitted students.

  • Meet individual and team recruitment goals as set by the department.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Education, Communications, Business, or a related field.

  • 13 years of experience in student recruitment, counseling, or customer service (experience in higher education preferred).

  • Knowledge of admissions policies and enrollment procedures.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM/admissions software.

  • Willingness to travel locally and work occasional evenings or weekends for events.
