Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Payroll Tax Specialist with strong expertise in U.S. payroll tax regulations, including FICA, Medicare, FUTA, and state-level requirements. The role requires hands-on experience in managing 1099 and W-2 reporting, along with proficiency in widely used payroll software platforms. Prior experience in a BPO or outsourcing environment will be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure full compliance with U.S. federal payroll tax laws, including FICA, Medicare, and FUTA.
- Manage and file state-specific payroll taxes across multiple jurisdictions.
- Prepare and file accurate 1099 and W-2 forms for clients.
- Process and reconcile payroll taxes using platforms such as ADP, Gusto, or Paychex.
- Work closely with client teams to resolve payroll tax discrepancies and issues.
- Keep updated on federal and state payroll tax law changes.
- Support responses to IRS or state tax notices and audits.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in U.S. payroll tax compliance, preferably in a BPO or outsourcing setting.
- Solid understanding of IRS rules, multi-state payroll compliance, and reporting requirements.
- Hands-on experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Gusto, Paychex).
- Strong knowledge of 1099/W-2 reporting and worker classification.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills for client collaboration.
- [Professional certifications such as CPA, EA, or payroll tax credentials are a plus.]
