About the Role:

We are looking for a highly experienced Backend Engineer ) with 7+ years of expertise in building and scaling production-grade systems. The ideal candidate will lead backend architecture, design, and development of robust RESTful APIs and services while ensuring performance, maintainability, and best practices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, mentor junior developers, and drive backend excellence through technical leadership. Experience with MySQL, observability tools, and modern development practices is essential, while knowledge of CI/CD, cloud platforms, and microservices is a strong plus.

Key Requirements:

  • 7+ years of backend development experience with a proven track record of delivering scalable, production-grade systems

  • Expert in , with at least one large-scale project shipped using the NestJS framework in a lead or principal capacity

  • Architect and own the design and implementation of RESTful APIs and backend services, ensuring robustness, maintainability, and performance

  • Deep hands-on experience integrating relational databases such as MySQL, including schema design, optimization, and ORM usage (preferably Prisma)

  • Lead technical reviews, enforce best practices, and set coding and architectural standards for the backend team

  • Proactive in observability — leveraging tools like Sentry, Datadog, or New Relic to monitor application health, identify performance bottlenecks, and guide resolution efforts

  • Comfortable with AI-driven development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar IDEs to enhance productivity and code quality

  • Strong communicator capable of collaborating cross-functionally with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to align technical direction with business goals

  • Mentor and coach backend developers to elevate team capabilities and technical maturity

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, PlayWright, Cypress) and enforcing test-driven or behavior-driven development practices

  • Exposure to modern deployment practices (CI/CD pipelines, containerization, AWS/GCP/Azure environments).

  • Experience designing event-driven or microservices architectures is a plus.
