NOC Supervisor

The NOC Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Network Operations Center (NOC), ensuring continuous monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network infrastructure and systems. This role involves supervising NOC engineers, managing incident responses, ensuring SLAs are met, and maintaining network uptime and service reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise and guide the NOC team to ensure 24/7 monitoring and operational excellence.
- Schedule and manage shift rotations, ensuring adequate coverage at all times.
- Provide mentorship, training, and performance feedback to NOC engineers and technicians.
- Foster a proactive, high-performance team culture with strong accountability.
Network Monitoring & Incident Management
- Oversee network, system, and application monitoring tools to detect and resolve issues promptly.
- Ensure timely escalation and resolution of incidents in line with established SLAs.
- Analyze recurring network or system faults and coordinate root cause analysis (RCA).
- Maintain incident logs and prepare performance and outage reports.
Process & Performance Management
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for NOC operations.
- Coordinate with IT, infrastructure, and vendor teams for planned maintenance and upgrades.
- Review and improve NOC processes to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Track and report on key operational metrics such as uptime, MTTR, and incident volume.
System & Compliance Oversight
- Ensure all network operations adhere to company policies and security standards.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for systems, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Support audits and compliance activities related to network infrastructure.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in network operations.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, VPN, Firewalls, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Zabbix).
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.
- Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or ITIL are preferred.
