COMPANY OVERVIEW:
Our client, a Karachi-based, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) regulated Electronic Money Institution (EMI), seeks to appoint an experienced professional for the following role:
Job Role
This position will lead regulatory coordination, process governance, compliance testing, risk assessments, and reporting mechanismssafeguarding the organization against compliance breaches, operational lapses, and financial crime exposure. The role also supervises units and functions under the Risk & Compliance umbrella, including AML, and Internal Control oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and review SOP, Key Risk Indicators in line with Operational Risk framework, Business Risk policies and Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)
- Introduce a Risk and Governance Committee (RGC) for Business Banking to oversee the risk framework for the Business · Ensure the risks associated with new and changed products, services and business strategy are sufficiently assessed and mitigated
- Develop and manage portfolio monitoring and governance with focus on online channel usage, KYC accuracy
- Define and implement a sustainable operational process where there is direct impact on Financial, Operational, Reputational and Regulatory Risks to the company
- Create a Control Testing Framework in the Unit for independent validation AML Risk KYC ongoing review and documentation
- Act as the checker Business Operational Risk · Define and implement a sustainable operational process where there is direct impact on Financial, Operational, Reputational and Regulatory to the company
- Work closely with fraud team to eliminate process gaps to reduce risk and improve controls
- Participate in ongoing modification to governance related systems/ modules, where required
- Interpret new regulatory circulars and develop compliance action plans for implementation
- Lead SBP inspections, external regulatory audits, and follow-up on compliance observations
- Perform Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery oversight with relevant teams
- Coordinate with Internal Audit to ensure corrective actions are timely implemented
- Monitor third-party/vendor risk pertaining to digital integrations, service providers, and agent network
- Prepare monthly/quarterly risk & compliance reports for senior management & Board Committees
- Support policy design, updates, and dissemination for operational compliance
- Any other assignment as deemed appropriate by supervisor
Education
- Minimum 16 years of education, preferably a Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field from an HEC-recognized or equivalent foreign institution
- Professional certifications such as CA/ACCA will be an added advantage
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience, preferably in a large national/multinational organization
- Experience in a bank, EMI, fintech, or regulated financial institution growth functions is preferred
Requirements
- Strong understanding of SBP regulations, AML/CFT framework & FATF obligations
- Analytical mindset with sound risk judgement and decision-making ability
- Experience in digital product compliance and technology risk preferred
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Age
The candidate should preferably be not more than 40 years of age as of last date of submission of application.
