Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of knitwear fabric behavior and quality standards
  • Familiarity with testing methods and standards (AATCC, ISO, ASTM, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with testing lab equipment
  • Good documentation and reporting skills
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving ability

Required:

  • Oversee fabric and garment testing specific to knitwear production
  • Ensure all raw materials and finished garments meet quality and compliance standards
  • Conduct or supervise tests for:
  • GSM (grams per square meter)
  • Dimensional stability (shrinkage)
  • Color fastness (to washing, rubbing, perspiration, light)
  • Pilling resistance
  • Bursting strength / Tensile strength
  • Coordinate with external labs (like SGS, Intertek, BV) for third-party testing
  • Maintain testing records, lab reports, and ensure traceability
  • Calibrate and maintain lab equipment and instruments
  • Work closely with the quality control, merchandising, and production teams to address quality issues
  • Ensure compliance with buyer requirements and international standards (AATCC, ISO, etc.)
  • Train lab assistants or technicians on correct testing procedures
