Experience: 5-10 years
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of knitwear fabric behavior and quality standards
- Familiarity with testing methods and standards (AATCC, ISO, ASTM, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with testing lab equipment
- Good documentation and reporting skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Required:
- Oversee fabric and garment testing specific to knitwear production
- Ensure all raw materials and finished garments meet quality and compliance standards
- Conduct or supervise tests for:
- GSM (grams per square meter)
- Dimensional stability (shrinkage)
- Color fastness (to washing, rubbing, perspiration, light)
- Pilling resistance
- Bursting strength / Tensile strength
- Coordinate with external labs (like SGS, Intertek, BV) for third-party testing
- Maintain testing records, lab reports, and ensure traceability
- Calibrate and maintain lab equipment and instruments
- Work closely with the quality control, merchandising, and production teams to address quality issues
- Ensure compliance with buyer requirements and international standards (AATCC, ISO, etc.)
- Train lab assistants or technicians on correct testing procedures
