Senior Android Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Android Engineer with 6+ years of professional experience in developing and scaling Android applications. The ideal candidate must have a strong Computer Science foundation, hands-on expertise in Kotlin and modern Android development practices, and proven experience delivering production-level apps.

This role starts as remote but may switch to a hybrid working model depending on team requirements. The candidate must also possess strong English communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain 
    high-quality Android applications
     using 
    Kotlin
     and modern Android libraries.
  • Architect scalable and maintainable solutions for 
    large-scale production apps
    .
  • Implement 
    REST API integration
     and manage 
    real-time communication via Sockets
     (chat module is a must).
  • Work with 
    CI/CD pipelines
     to automate build, testing, and deployment.
  • Build 
    cross-platform solutions using Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM)
     where required.
  • Write 
    Unit Tests, Instrumentation Tests
    , and ensure app reliability through test automation.
  • Collaborate with 
    product managers, designers, and backend engineers
     to define and deliver features.
  • Mentor junior developers, perform 
    code reviews
    , and promote engineering best practices.
  • Monitor, profile, and optimize 
    app performance, battery usage, and memory footprint
    .
  • Stay current with the 
    latest Android ecosystem advancements (Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flow, etc.)
    .

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science
     (or equivalent).
  • 6+ years of professional Android development experience
     with production-level apps.
  • Strong foundation in 
    data structures, algorithms, system design, and OOP principles
    .
  • Expertise in 
    Kotlin and Java
    , with hands-on experience in 
    Coroutines and Flow
    .
  • Deep knowledge of 
    Android SDK, Jetpack libraries, and Android Architecture Components
    .
  • Proven experience with 
    RESTful API integration
     and 
    real-time sockets for chat/notifications
    .
  • Experience in 
    CI/CD pipelines
     for Android (Gradle, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Bitrise, or CircleCI).
  • Solid knowledge of 
    MVVM, MVI, or Clean Architecture
     design patterns.
  • Strong experience with 
    Unit Testing, Integration Testing, and UI Testing frameworks
     (JUnit, Espresso, Mockito, etc.).
  • Expertise with 
    Google Play Store publishing and app lifecycle management
    .
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
    .

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with 
    Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM)
    .
  • Experience with 
    Jetpack Compose
     for modern UI development.
  • Knowledge of 
    offline-first apps, caching strategies, and Room/Realm databases
    .
  • Experience integrating 
    third-party SDKs (Payments, Maps, Analytics, etc.)
    .
  • Knowledge of 
    mobile security best practices
     and secure data handling.
  • Strong debugging skills and familiarity with 
    profiling tools (LeakCanary, Android Profiler, Firebase Crashlytics, etc.)
    .
