As a Database Administrator (DBA) at Paysys Labs, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our databases and ensure optimal performance, security, and availability. You will work closely with the development and 24/7 operations teams to support and improve our database infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities:

· Install, configure, and maintain database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) to ensure their availability, reliability, and performance.

· Configuration, setup, and troubleshooting of replication technologies like Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Goldengate, SQL Server replication, HA and PostgreSQL Streaming Replication.

· Planning and execution of DR Drills with respect to databases.

· Setting and maintaining security for database level encryption using transparent data encryption.

· Ensure security by implementing and maintaining access controls, encryption, and industry standard security measures. Conduct regular security audits and compliance checks.

· Monitor database growth and usage patterns, and plan for future capacity needs to ensure optimal performance and scalability.

· Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, and perform regular testing to ensure data can be recovered in the event of a failure.

· Managing multiple databases using automation jobs and alert.

· Define and manage processes for proactive database monitoring.

· Help team with optimization for transactional databases.

· Define and manage processes for backups and archival.

· Maintain checklists and documentation related to all Database configurations.

· Provide individual mentoring and training on databases and tools. Recommend, test, and evaluate new technologies, software tools, and required skill sets; recommend and implement improvements.

· Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures. Generate regular reports on database performance, usage, and security.

· Work closely with Development, QA, and Operations teams to provide database support, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions. Provide guidance and training to junior DBAs and other team members.

Job Requirement:

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

· 2 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with hands-on experience in managing and maintaining databases (Oracle, SQL Server).

· Experience with database performance tuning, optimization techniques, and tools.

· Proficiency in database backup and recovery, disaster recovery planning, and data security.

· Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, Shell scripting) for automation and task scheduling.

· Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting

· Familiarity with data migration processes and ETL tools.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

· Certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or similar are a plus.
