Role Overview

BackTech is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Accounts Manager with strong exposure to US-based accounting practices. The role involves supporting senior management in overseeing accounting operations, ensuring compliance, and maintaining high-quality financial reporting standards.

Team Leadership & Management

· Train, mentor, and support accounting staff to improve performance and productivity

· Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback

· Set clear KPIs and development paths for the team

· Maintain a positive and collaborative work environment

Client Relationship Management

· Manage smooth client onboarding and transitions

· Handle client queries and concerns promptly and professionally

· Maintain strong client satisfaction through proactive communication

Operational Oversight

· Develop and enforce accounting processes and internal controls

· Monitor daily operations to ensure accuracy and deadlines are met

· Ensure consistency across all financial documentation and reports

Financial Reporting & Analysis

· Review and approve monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

· Provide financial analysis and actionable insights to clients and management

· Ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and client-specific standards

Reporting to Senior Management

· Share regular updates on department performance and client satisfaction

· Prepare reports and dashboards to support executive decision-making

Required Skills & Abilities

· Bachelor's/Master's in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/ACCA/CA preferred)

· 3–5 years of relevant experience with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role

· Strong hands-on expertise in QuickBooks, Zoho Books, and Xero

· Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and compliance requirements

· Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

· Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting tools

Experience

  • Prior experience in BPO, Accounting Firms, or Multinational Companies preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with US accounting standards, reporting, and reconciliations is mandatory.
  • Exposure to client implementation and onboarding will be a plus.
