Location: This role is based in Lahore.

About the role:

This role is part of the Public & Government Affairs (PGA) team within the Corporate Affairs Division. The primary responsibility of the PGA team is to advocate organization's position, on matters impacting business, with key governmental organizations and ministries.

The focus of the role encompasses liaising with external stakeholders particularly in law enforcement organizations, building company's credentials as a responsible organization; and providing a clear view to internal teams of any government policy changes which could impact business operations. The role reports directly to the VP PGA.

Your Impactful Goals will include:

  • Development and execution of an effective stakeholder engagement plan for identified external stakeholders, with focus on law enforcement institutions.
  • Implementation of an advocacy plan for a balanced and fair implementation of the law and regulations enacted by government of Pakistan.
  • Close liaison with LEAs on a regular basis for smooth business activities.  Ensure the requirements of LEAs are fulfilled as per local laws and regulations.
  • Effectively communicate the company's position on critical matters in front of concerned ministries, government departments, parliamentary committees, and other forums, as required.
  • Secure urgent meetings with law enforcement authorities to proactively address emerging business issues and prevent potential operational disruptions.
  • Support and facilitate leadership participation in government-led forums, consultations, events and meetings.

Your typical day at work

  • Providing operational support to the PGA Islamabad team
  • Ensuring effective stakeholder management at all governmental levels
  • Advocacy for a balanced and fair regulatory regime that ensures sector's growth.
  • Proactively leading the engagement with the regulators, ensuring quality and timely inputs to the policy formulation process.
  • Build strong internal and external partnerships that strengthen corporate reputation.
  • Providing timely and relevant analysis to senior management related to policy & regulatory developments.
  • Ensure Telenor's views are represented at decision-making levels of the government.

What we are looking for?

Education: Bachelors/Masters

Work experience: 7-10 years of relevant experience, preferably in a law enforcement organization and experience of engaging with government officials and representatives will be highly desired

Potential Career Path:

Opportunities to grow laterally and vertically in the Corporate Affairs division.

Functional Skills / Knowledge Areas:

  • Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills required
  • Core experience in managing public affairs with hands on experience of managing law enforcement stakeholders
  • Being a member of a PR/communications/policy development team with previous experience of working with government would also be highly desirable.
