
Assistant Manager Finance

We are looking for an Assistant Manager – Finance who will oversee the financial operations of , ensuring robust accounting, financial control, client billing, cash flow management, and regulatory compliance. This person will support strategic planning, help optimize profitability of marketing campaigns & services, and manage finance team activities to enable effective decision‑making in a fast‑paced digital marketing environment.
Responsibilities
Accounting & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions: general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, accruals, prepayments.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes: reconciliations, journal entries, preparing financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flows).
- Prepare financial MIS (management information system) reports, dashboards, variance analysis to compare budget vs actual for clients, campaigns, overheads.
Ensure correct revenue recognition especially for retainer clients, milestone‑based contracts, performance‑based campaigns.
Client Billing & Collections
Ensure timely and accurate invoicing to clients: check deliverables, campaign costs, media spends, agency fees, etc.
- Follow up on outstanding invoices, manage accounts receivable aging, coordinate with sales / account management teams to resolve billing disputes.
Forecast receivables and ensure cash inflows are aligned with projections.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Cost Management
Assist in preparing annual budgets and campaign/cost forecasts.
- Monitor campaign expenses (media buy, freelancers, software, tools, ad spends) and overhead costs, evaluate cost‑efficiency.
Analyze margins per campaign/client, suggest pricing or operational changes to improve profitability.
Cash Flow & Treasury
Manage cash flow: inflows (client payments), outflows (vendor payments, salaries, ad spends).
- Liaise with banks, ensure necessary bank reconciliations.
Maintain adequate working capital.
Compliance, Tax & Statutory Reporting
Ensure compliance with local laws / regulations: tax filings (sales tax / GST or its Pakistan equivalent), withholding taxes, payroll taxes, etc.
- Assist external and internal audits; prepare required documentation and schedules.
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of financial/legal/regulatory changes affecting the business.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement
Develop and enforce internal control policies and procedures (approval workflows, expense approvals, procurement, etc.).
- Identify inefficiencies in financial processes, propose & implement automation or improved systems (e.g. using financial software, ERP, campaign cost tracking tools).
Ensure proper cost allocation across departments and campaigns.
Team Supervision & Collaboration
Supervise & mentor accounting / finance team members; delegate tasks and ensure high performance and accuracy.
- Collaborate closely with account managers, campaign leads, procurement, operations to ensure alignment of financial data and timely info flow.
Provide financial inputs into strategic planning (new service lines, tool investments, marketing budgets, staffing needs).
Ad hoc Financial Analysis & Strategic Projects
Conduct profitability analyses of clients / campaigns.
- Perform scenario modeling (e.g. what‑if analyses for revenue growth, cost increases).
- Assist management in business development decisions, tool/software investments, vendor negotiations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or similar. A master's (MBA‑Finance) is a plus.
- Professional accounting qualification (CA / ACCA / CMA) preferred or in progress.
- At least 3‑4 years
of relevant experience, with significant exposure to service‑based / agency / digital marketing environment. - Experience handling client billing, campaign cost tracking, advertising spends, vendor management.
- Familiarity with Pakistan's taxation, statutory and regulatory requirements (e.g. sales tax, withholding tax, corporate tax rules).
Skills & Competencies
- Strong accounting & financial acumen, attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent proficiency in financial software / ERP systems and Excel (or equivalents) — modeling, pivot tables, dashboards.
- Good understanding of digital marketing metrics, campaign cost structures, media spends etc.
- Communication skills: able to explain financial info to non‑finance teams in account management, operations etc.
- Problem‑solving mindset; ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Integrity, reliability, ability to manage confidential information.
- Leadership ability; team supervision and mentorship.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Timeliness & accuracy of monthly/quarterly financial closes.
- Client billing cycle time; percentage of invoices raised on time.
- Accounts receivable aging; collection days.
- Budget vs actual variance (for campaigns, overheads, etc.).
- Campaign margin analysis and profitability per client.
- Cash flow forecasts vs actual cash flow.
- Compliance rate: audits passed, statutory/tax filings on time.
