Job Title: Truck Dispatcher
Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented
Truck Dispatcher
to join our logistics team. The Truck Dispatcher will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the movement of freight, assigning loads to drivers, monitoring routes, and ensuring timely delivery while maintaining compliance with company policies and federal transportation regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule, coordinate, and dispatch drivers to assigned loads.
  • Communicate with drivers, brokers, shippers, and receivers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Track and monitor the location and status of trucks to ensure on-time pick-up and delivery.
  • Resolve delivery issues, delays, or emergencies efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of loads, mileage, and fuel usage.
  • Negotiate with brokers/shippers for competitive freight rates.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and safety standards.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and customers.
  • Provide drivers with the necessary support, including route planning and problem-solving.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a
    Truck Dispatcher
    or in a logistics/transportation role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of trucking operations, freight management, and DOT regulations.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in dispatch software, GPS systems, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in Logistics or Business is a plus).

Work Environment

  • Office-based with frequent communication by phone, email, and dispatch software.
