We are seeking a creative, knowledgeable, and empathetic YouTube Content Creator to produce engaging video content on mental health and emotional wellbeing through an Islamic lens. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both Islamic principles and mental health awareness, and be able to translate complex topics into relatable, inspiring, and visually appealing digital content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute content strategies for YouTube that focus on faith-based mental health education, spiritual growth, and emotional resilience.
  • Script and film as a host; short and long-form videos that explore topics such as anxiety, depression, mindfulness, grief, and self-care — all rooted in Islamic teachings.
  • Ensure all content aligns with Islamic ethics, mental health best practices, and the organisation's values of compassion, confidentiality, and inclusivity.
  • Create visual storytelling that combines Qur'anic verses, hadith, reflective journalling, and mindfulness exercises.
  • Engage with the online community by responding to comments and feedback in a supportive and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the wider digital team on campaign planning, analytics, and content optimisation for audience growth.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Islamic psychology, counselling, or mental health awareness.
  • Proven experience in content creation, video production, or digital storytelling (preferably on YouTube or similar platforms).
  • Excellent communication, scripting, and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable appearing on camera and discussing sensitive topics respectfully.
  • Empathy, emotional intelligence, and a non-judgemental attitude.
  • Familiarity with SEO, YouTube analytics, and audience engagement strategies is an advantage.

Preferred Background

  • A degree or experience in psychology, counselling, Islamic studies, media production, or communications.
  • Experience working within the Muslim community or with faith-based organisations.
  • Understanding of mental health stigma, cultural sensitivity, and how to approach taboo topics constructively.
