Database Engineer (PostgreSQL / SQL Developer)

Location: Lahore, Pakistan

Job Type: Full-Time | On-site | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 4:00 AM, Monday–Friday)

We are a fast-growing technology and data services company providing advanced data management and analytics solutions to international clients. We're looking for a Database Engineer with strong expertise in PostgreSQL, SQL query optimization, and database performance tuning to join our dynamic team in Lahore.

This is a full-time, on-site night-shift position — ideal for professionals who excel in data-driven environments and want to work on challenging international projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL databases and data models
  • Write, optimize, and debug complex SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures
  • Manage database performance, capacity, and security
  • Monitor, back up, and restore databases to ensure data integrity and availability
  • Collaborate with developers and analysts to improve data flows and application performance
  • Implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data migration solutions
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in large datasets
  • Maintain documentation and ensure best practices for database development

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience as a Database Engineer, SQL Developer, or similar role
  • Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (schema design, indexing, optimization, partitioning)
  • Proficiency in SQL, query tuning, and database debugging
  • Understanding of data modeling, normalization, and relational database concepts
  • Experience with ETL processes and data integration
  • Familiarity with Linux-based environments and command-line database tools
  • Knowledge of database backup strategies, replication, and security best practices
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Good English communication and teamwork abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

Job Details

  • Location: On-site, Gulberg 3, Lahore
  • Timings: 7:00 PM – 4:00 AM (Monday to Friday)
  • Days Off: Saturday & Sunday
  • Salary: Market competitive (based on experience and technical skill level)
