JOB TITLE:
Operations Executive – Ocean Freight – Imports and Transit Trade

JOB LOCATION:
Karachi

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with ocean carriers and network offices to manage the imports and transit trade shipment moving across countries. Negotiating competitive rates, and addressing customer concerns to ensure satisfaction. You will also continuously assess customer needs, market trends, and competitors to enhance service offerings and maintain a competitive edge. You will:

  • Manage file creation and associated services for ocean freight Imports and Transit Trade.
  • Ensure proper execution of jobs through documentation management.
  • Assist customers and sales team with import and transit trade inquiries.
  • Support account start-up and provide necessary documentation/information.
  • Liaise with DPW Logistics Network for optimal service assistance.
  • Maintain strong relationships and effective communication with ocean carriers, Pakistan Customs and network offices to secure the best solutions (capacity and cost).
  • Manage Import and Transit Trade documentation and procedures/SOP agreed with the customers.
  • Manage container deconsolidation data and related documentations.
  • Provide clients with comprehensive shipment updates.
  • Respond promptly to any emergency situations that may arise
  • Identify and improve operational issues, including on-time delivery and data entry
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Maintain freight security in accordance with procedures

YOU BRING:

Qualification & Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelors.
  • PIFFA diploma will be given preference.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant and recent experience in Ocean Freight Forwarding Imports and Transit Trade Operations and Customer Services.
  • Proficient Communication (Oral & Written) - Possesses fluency in English, with additional languages considered advantageous.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the Freight Forwarding Industry.
  • Knowledge of complete import cycle, transit trade routes and documentation involved.
  • Hands-on experience of handling import documentation and coordination with carriers
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Drives effective execution of initiatives, ensuring accuracy and efficiency for Clients and Network offices through meticulous questioning, analysis, planning, and follow-up.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
