Position Title: Principal Design Consultant & Manager

Department: Digital Experience Design / Product Design

Reports To: CMO

Role Summary

The Principal Design Consultant & Manager will be responsible for managing and delivering high-quality UI/UX design solutions across digital products and client engagements. This role involves balancing hands-on design work with team coordination, client interaction, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate is someone who can independently drive design initiatives while supporting the design team operationally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Execution & Quality Control
  • Managing UI/UX design tasks including research, wireframing, user flows, and prototyping.
  • Review and refine design outputs created by the team to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Maintain and update design systems, style guides, and component libraries.

Team Coordination & Support

  • Guide designers in day-to-day tasks and ensure smooth workflow across projects.
  • Provide constructive feedback and direction to help the team improve quality and efficiency.
  • Support resource planning and task allocation under supervision of the department lead.

Client Communication & Requirement Gathering

  • Participate in client meetings, requirement discussions, and design presentations.
  • Translate business and functional requirements into structured design tasks.
  • Manage feedback cycles and maintain healthy communication with client stakeholders.

Project Documentation & Estimation

  • Prepare project documents such as design briefs, effort estimations, timelines, and functional flows.
  • Collaborate with PMs and engineering teams to ensure clear communication of design requirements.
  • Assist in preparing proposals, pitch documents, and design-related inputs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product, Engineering, QA, and Business teams for smooth end-to-end delivery.
  • Participate in sprint meetings, requirement workshops, and internal review sessions.
  • Ensure design alignment with technical, business, and product goals.

Required Skills & Experience Technical Skills

  • Strong command of Figma and modern design tools.
  • Ability to create wireframes, flows, prototypes, and polished UI designs.
  • Understanding of design systems and component-based design.
  • Familiarity with user research and usability evaluation.
  • Experience collaborating with developers.

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to manage priorities and support multiple projects.
  • Leadership mindset without needing a formal title.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as guide junior designers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Media Sciences, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • 6–9 years of experience in UI/UX or digital product design.
  • Prior team coordination experience is a plus.
  • Agency or consulting background preferred but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to Rs250,000.00 per month
