Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a SCADA & Control Engineer, located in Islamabad. The SCADA & Control Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining SCADA systems and related control systems. The daily tasks will include designing and configuring SCADA system, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, ensuring system reliability, and collaborating with other engineering teams on system integration and optimization. The ideal candidate will have experience on developing signals list, SCADA architectures, a

Qualifications

  • Electrical / Electronic Engineering skills
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ISA, Siemens, Schneider, ABB, or equivalent SCADA/DCS certifications) are a plus.
  • Knowledge of international standards (IEC 61850, IEC , Modbus, DNP3, OPC-UA, IEEE, etc.).
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities

Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in SCADA system design, configuration, testing, and commissioning.
  • Hands-on experience with energy storage systems (BESS), solar PV plants, and substations.
  • Proficiency in PLC/DCS programming and integration (Siemens, Schneider, ABB, SEL, etc.).
  • Knowledge of communication protocols (IEC 61850, Modbus TCP/IP, DNP3, OPC, IEC 104).
  • Ability to develop control logic, automation sequences, and interlocks for power plants.
  • Experience with HMI/SCADA platforms (WinCC, Wonderware, Ignition, GE, etc.).
  • Understanding of protection relays, IEDs, and substation automation.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity practices for industrial control systems.
  • Knowledge of network architecture (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, switches, routers).
