About the Role

We are seeking a full-time Senior Mechanical Engineer (Electrical Switchgear) based at our Karachi Office.
This work is entirely for US clients
. The ideal candidate should possess at least 5 years of experience in designing, development and fabrication of Medium Voltage metal enclosed and metal clad switchgear.

The successful candidate is expected to be a detail oriented, experienced engineer who can make decisions independently under the guidance of our client team. They should be able to provide manufacturing personnel with complete drawings and specifications of assemblies, enclosures, panels etc. to be fabricated. The candidate is expected to use software tools such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks etc. to prepare engineering drawings in 2D and 3D and related machine files to support and assist in programing manufacturing and fabrication equipment (CNC) such a Laser Jet, Water Jet, Press Brake, Shear, Turret Punch and others. This is an excellent career opportunity for an engineer with a strong technical background and looking to grow into other engineering roles.

Job Requirements

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports.
• Prepare new engineering drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor software.
• Revise existing engineering drawings.
• Work with the electrical engineering team to produce new and revised enclosure designs.
• Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, or other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, or maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
• Support and assist in programing manufacturing and fabrication equipment (CNC) such as Laser, Water Jet, Press Brake, Shear, Turret Punch and others.
• Provide manufacturing personnel with complete drawings and specifications of materials and assemblies to be fabricated.
• Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
• Maintain engineering drawing files, both hard copy and electronic files.

Required Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineer with at least 5 years of experience
• Expert skills in AutoCAD
• 3D CAD modeling experience in Solidworks 3D and/or Autodesk Inventor
• Sheet Metal knowledge and experience through 3D modeling.
• Ability to understand sketches and mark-ups and convert them to complete and finished drawings
• Strong skills in MS Office and PDF Editing tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as work independently
• Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks
• Proven track record in meeting deadlines.

This role requires flexible working hours. Work is performed during regular Pakistan working hours with some overlap with US daytime working hours.
