Job Title: Finance Officer

Job Purpose

To support the Finance & Accounts team in managing fund accounting operations, including the calculation of Net Asset Value (NAV), daily reconciliations, client reporting, and regulatory compliance.

The role ensures accuracy in accounting records, timely resolution of client queries, and adherence to SECP and internal controls, contributing to the integrity and performance of SMA client portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

Fund Accounting & NAV Calculation

Perform daily fund accounting activities, ensuring accurate books and records.

Calculate and validate the Net Asset Value (NAV) of SMA clients.

Ensure compliance with internal controls, IFRS standards, and SECP requirements.

Reconciliation & Reporting

Conduct daily reconciliations of trades, cash, positions, and corporate actions.

Prepare periodic performance and financial reports for clients and management.

Maintain audit-ready documentation for accounting and reconciliation processes.

Client & Query Management

Respond promptly and professionally to SMA client queries.

Coordinate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies or issues.

Ensure transparency and accuracy in reporting to clients.

Regulatory & Audit Support

Assist in meeting regulatory requirements, filings, and compliance with NBFC rules.

Support internal and external audits by preparing and providing necessary documentation.

Escalate potential risks and control issues to the reporting manager.

Special Projects & Team Support

Assist the Finance & Accounts team with ad-hoc projects and strategic initiatives.

Undertake any special assignments as directed by the reporting manager.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.

0.6 – 1 year of relevant experience in fund accounting, mutual funds, or advisory firms.

Fresh graduates with strong academic background and internship experience in finance may also be considered.

Familiarity with financial instruments, accounting standards, and portfolio accounting systems.

Key Competencies

Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.

Knowledge of equities, bonds, and money market instruments.

Proficiency in MS Excel and portfolio/accounting software.

Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving ability.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
