2. General Position Summary

The WASH Engineer will be based at SIF field office Ghizer and will be responsible for planning, technical feasibility, designing, implementation and reporting of SIF WASH and community infrastructure interventions in Ghizer under the direct supervision of Project Manager and with technical support and coordination of WASH Coordinator. S/he will technically ensure the adherence to the standards of construction while implementation and monitoring physical infrastructure related activities in timely manner.

In addition, s/he may be called upon to carry out surveys, participatory needs assessments or any other activity that may be deemed necessary.

3. Essential Job Function

• Prepare an activity implementation plan and discuss the required resources to undertake the activity.

• Ensure community participation in the CBT project activities.

• Form / re-organize Community Based Organizations (CBOs) male/female

• Conduct Village mapping/profiling through different PRA tools (i.e. is BBCMs, Mapping/profile, conflict resolution wealth ranking, etc.

• Develop BOQs for CBT activities.

• Mobilize community and orient livelihood project and organization's mandate.

• Work with community members to map and prioritize community needs

• Identify and organize appropriate capacity building, and technical resources to support project implementation.

• Ensure efficient and effective implementation of Food Security, Livelihoods, Cash based intervention, and related interventions at the community level.

• Write regular weekly, monthly, and other reports (as per suggestion and need).

• Facilitation and support in conducting the awareness sessions.

• Mobilize community groups, sensitize and train them on specific topics as required, and organize and facilitate meetings.

• Follow the Social Mobilization guidelines of SIF and implement them at the community level.

• Perform other duties as requested by the line supervisor.

• Prepare daily field visit reports after commencing the visit to the field.

• Prepare and submit weekly progress reports well on time.

• Prepare any other reports when required/asked by the supervisor.

• Actively participate in staff meetings.

4. REQUIREMENTS

Education:

BSc /B-Tech in Civil Engineering and Technology

Experience:

Three to four years of experience in the WASH sector in public or private organizations; preferably in international organizations.

Languages:

Fluency in the English Urdu and local language.

Knowledge: Proficient in AutoCAD or other Civil Engineering software

Knowledge and experience in providing presentations and written reports

Supervisory Responsibility: N/A
